BOQ engaged us to build a newly established Government Relations function

Objectives

With no existing Government Relations (GR) capability within the Corporate Affairs team, BOQ engaged us to build a best-practice GR function from the ground up—positioning the bank as a credible and influential voice in public policy.


Approach

  • Designed and implemented a comprehensive Government Relations strategy, aligned with industry best practices and tailored to BOQ’s strategic objectives.


  • Executed the GR strategy over a three-year period, embedding it into the organisation’s broader corporate affairs and stakeholder engagement framework.


  • Elevated the profile of the CEO and Executive team through targeted engagement with Federal and Queensland political leaders, including the Treasurer, Shadow Treasurer, and key Parliamentary Committee members.


  • Provided strategic counsel and training to executives in preparation for Parliamentary Inquiries and other government-facing forums.


Client Outcome

Successfully positioned BOQ “at the policy table” on critical issues impacting the bank’s operations and long-term success.
